Membership votes to restructure and change name to North Carolina Subcontractors Alliance, Inc.

On June 25th, 2013, the members of Charlotte Chapter-ASAC, Inc. voted overwhelmingly to dissolve the organization’s 37 year affiliation with the American Subcontractors Association of the Carolinas, Inc., and its national umbrella organization, the American Subcontractors Association, Inc.   They also changed their name to North Carolina Subcontractors Alliance, Inc., effective June 25, 2013.  Formed in 1976, NCSA has been a resource for local subcontractors for networking, education and legislation reform.  Recently, however, the organization has seen a decline in membership as the construction industry as a whole, and subcontractors in particular, suffered from the downturn in the economy.  NCSA’s Board of Directors worked up plans over the past year to revitalize the organization in light of the ‘new normal’ and the unnecessary duplication of effort with other industry organizations.  “Our past relationship with ASA was great.
